Auro is a casual dining restaurant in Hauz Khas. Its in the DDA shopping complex on the 2nd floor. The main entrance for the restaurant is from the front, hence there is another entrance from the back of the building.
They have indoor as well as outdoor seatings. Their outdoor seating is very attracting, once being their, one will definitely go for the outdoors seating. They got a bar in inside premises and in the outdoor area too. Also the hookah counter is outdoors as they don’t serve sheesha inside. The outdoor area is quite well made up, the landscaping, the furnitures, mist fans etc.
As for the food they are serving North Indian and Continental cuisines. What I had there was:
- Paneer 65 Slider
- Mushroom Ranikhet
- Truffle Kulcha
- Char Grilled Baby Potatoes
- Mushroom Potato xacuti
- Masala Cottage Cheese
- Lentil and Vegetable Curry
- Pop Fashioned
- Char Grilled Gulab Jamun with Rose Mascarpone
Food and drinks both were good, while desserts were heavenly. As for starters truffle kulcha, mushrooms and char grilled baby potatoes were very toothsome. The kulchas had the stuffing of paneer and were served along with mushrooms and seekh kebabs. The baby potatoes were char grilled and topped with molten cheese.
For the mains Lentil and masala cottage cheese was the best, and those gulab jamuns were extremely amazing. Lentil and veg curry was served with caramelised rice and milk parathas also the mushroom potato xacuti was served with malabar paratha. Gulab Jamuns were one of the best gulab jamuns I had till date. They were served on vermicelli and ginger biscuit crumbs.
Though the drink pop fashioned didn’t fascinate much. It was bourbon based drink with bourbon infused in pop corn and with the addition of beer syrup in it. Sounds tempting but one was enough for this drink. I moved on to the old fashioned drink i.e. on the rocks and had a couple of beers as well.
Other than the mentioned dishes, also there were pizzas, cucumber gimlet (gin based cocktail, burgers and tacos.
